On Thursday, April 21, 2016, from 12-1:30 pm, JAMS (One Beacon St., Ste. 2210) will be providing basic mediation training to members of BANG. Jim McGuire, a dispute resolution professional since 1989, will be presenting on the following topics:
- When to mediate
- Life cycle of a mediation
- Setting your client's expectations
- The day of mediation
- Best practices
This is the first class in a two-part course, and it is a prerequisite for the second class. (The second class, which is slated for the fall, will cover advanced topics including risk analysis, the end game, how to use a mediator, and how to get to the right settlement number.)
Lunch will be provided. Space is guaranteed to the first 24 people who RSVP by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. After that, admission will be on a rolling basis. (RSVP'ing is also required for security clearance.) This is also open to non-members, so if you know of anyone who might be interested in attending, please let us know!
